Our natural world is full of magic: enchanted forests, colorful meadows, quiet moors, babbling brooks, and little oases along the way. These are places that give us strength, ground us, and shape our sense of home. But these favorite spots aren’t guaranteed to last—they’re increasingly under threat from the climate crisis, agriculture, and construction projects.
That’s why this year I’m looking for your very own favorite places in nature.
Places that show why it’s worth protecting our homeland.
Join the 2025 Photo Contest!

• Anyone can enter with a photo.


• Submissions are open from September 15 to 28, 2025.


• The top 12 photos will be featured in the “Favorite Places 2026” calendar.


• The top 3 winners get a special prize:


• Moorland areas will be protected in their name with an official certificate!

Here’s how to participate:
Send your own photo (along with your name, location, photo title, and mailing address)
by email in a suitable size (minimum 2 MB) with the subject line “Favorite Places” to jutta.paulus(at)ep.europa.eu
