Admiral
The name of the butterfly comes from the fact that its colors - black with white and red - correspond to the colors of former admiral uniforms. The admiral is a migratory butterfly from Southern Europe. In April/May, some butterflies cross or circle the Alps and fly northwards, sometimes as far as Sweden. Their successor generation, which grows up in Central Europe during the summer, migrates southwest again in the autumn.

Der Name des Falters rührt daher, dass seine Farben - schwarz mit weiß und rot - den Farben früherer Admiralsuniformen entsprechen. Der Admiral ist ein Wanderfalter aus Südeuropa. Im April/Mai überqueren oder umrunden einige Falter die Alpen und fliegen nordwärts, mitunter bis nach Schweden. Ihre Nachfolgegeneration, die den Sommer über in Mitteleuropa heranwächst, wandert im Herbst wieder Richtung Südwesten.
