Besides my portraits of people and vehicles, I sometimes take a few photos while on vacation. Occasionally, this results in images that fit not only in the WhatsApp status but also in the folder for wallpapers. Just like this one.

Neben meinen Menschen- und Fahrzeugporträts fotografiere ich manchmal auch im Urlaub ein wenig. Dabei entstehen dann manchmal Bilder, die es nicht nur in den WhatsApp Status, sondern auch in den Ordner für Bildschirmhintergründe passen. So wie dieses hier.

Painterly Portrait
Since I am fascinated by Renaissance portraits (Caravaggio, Velasquez...) and really like chiaroscuro, I prefer to shoot like that in the studio. Since vehicle photos are somewhat overrepresented in my gallery here, I wanted to create some variety and show more human portraits...

Da mich Renaissanceportäts begeistern (Caravaggio, Velasquez...) und ich Chiaroscuro sehr mag, shoote ich im Studio am liebsten auch so. Da ja Fahrzeugbilder in meiner Galerie hier etwas überrepräsentiert sein, wollte ich mal Abwechslung schaffen und möchte mal etwas mehr Menschenporträts zeigen...

When calm settles over the racetrack after sunset, the real fun for me begins... After getting permission and coordinating the times during the day, I roam the pits at night and calmly photograph the cars. Sleep is totally overrated...

Wenn nach Sonnenuntergang an der Rennstrecke Ruhe einkehrt geht für mich der eigentliche Spaß erst los... Nachdem ich jeweils tagsüber die Erlaubnis eingeholt und die Zeiten abgestimmt habe, bin ich Nachts in den Boxen unterwegs und lichte die Autos in Ruhe ab. Schlaf ist völlig überbewertet...

Fotografie nutzen um Dinge einfach abzubilden ist mir persönlich zu langweilig. Ich möchte Darstellen wie etwas auf mich wirkt oder wie sich etwas anfühlt. Dinge auf ihren Kern reduzieren. Elemente betonen. Alles unnötige weglassen...

With this vehicle, it's not hard to let lines and light play together. As often with me, taken as light painting, meaning a long exposure in the dark where I illuminate (paint) the subject with a simple video lamp. No AI, no multiple exposure...

Bei diesem Fahrzeug ist es nicht schwer, Linien und Licht zusammen spielen zu lassen. Aufgenommen wie so oft bei mir als Lightpaint, also Langzeitbelichtung im Dunkeln, bei der ich mit einer einfachen Videolampe das Objekt ausleuchte (bemale). Kein AI, keine Mehrfachbelichtung...
