Photo Contests Improved

A great photo contest inspires, sharpens your eye, and sparks conversations about images. That’s exactly why we’ve revamped the photo contests at Photoclub. They’re now clearer, more engaging, and better aligned with how photographers actually work. Participation is more flexible, presentation is higher quality, and visibility is intentionally boosted at the end of each month. It’s not about pressure—it’s about the joy of photography.

Join in whenever your photo is ready

At the bottom of the detailed view, you’ll find the “Photo Contests” button where you can submit your image directly. Of course, you can still upload a new photo specifically for the contest. This approach takes the pressure off and gives your image the spotlight exactly when it feels right to you.

More attention at the right time

The contest sections on the homepage automatically move higher up as the month comes to a close. This highlights what’s currently happening and where a second look is worthwhile. Voting, promotion, and award ceremonies have also been redesigned—clear, calm, and focused on the photography and the photographers.

Greater recognition

Instead of showing only the top three winners, the next six placements are now visible as well. This acknowledges photographic quality more broadly and reveals emerging trends. This is especially valuable for many photographers: seeing that their work is noticed—even if it’s not at the very top.
