I was out by a small lake at dusk and was actually already on my way back when I saw this sand lizard on the road. Road might be an exaggeration, as there wasn’t much traffic, more like a paved farm track. So I had enough time to lie down and take a picture. Although I normally never interfere, in this case, after taking the photo, I deliberately crossed the flight distance and disturbed the animal so it would move away and not get run over. Straße ist vielleicht übertrieben, da war nicht viel Autoverkehr, eher ein asphaltierter Feldweg. Also hatte ich genug Zeit, um mich hinzulegen und ein Bild zu machen. Obwohl ich normal nie eingreife, habe ich in diesem Fall nach dem Bild bewusst die Fluchtdistanz unterschritten und das Tier gestört, damit es sich wegbewegt und nicht überfahren wird. Erfolgreich, die Eidechse hat sich von der Straße in die Büsche zurückgezogen.
