In 1855, Förderer became a supporter of the parish administration at the Catholic parish of St. Peter and Paul in Lahr and became pastor here in 1862. In 1868, he founded the "Anzeiger für Stadt und Land" and worked as an editor; in 1879, he followed with the calendar "Der Vetter vom Rhein." In 1869, he was among the founders of the Catholic People's Party in Baden and represented the Gengenbach-Haslach electoral district in the Baden state parliament from 1871 to 1887.

1889 ermordet
1855 wurde Förderer Pfarrverwesen an der katholishcen Pfarrei St. Peter und Paul in Lahr und 1862 hier Pfarrer. 1868 gründete er den "Anzeiger für Stadt und Land" und arbeitete als Redakteur mit, 1879 folgte der Kalender "Der Vetter vom Rhein". 1869 gehörte er zu den Gründern der Katholischen Volkspartei in Baden und vertrat 1871 bis 1887 den Wahlbezirk Gengenbach-Haslach im badischen Landtag.
Am 23.1.1889 wurde Förderer im Pfarrhaus neben der Peter-und-Paul-Kirche erstochen. Die Motive für den Mord sind weitgehend unklar, doch spielten Antiklerikalismus und geistige Verwirrtheit eine Rolle.
