    Runaway finch
Rice buntings or finches are not native here. They are popular cage birds, for centuries in China and Japan, now probably worldwide. In their original homeland, the population is classified as endangered. The one here must be an escapee from a cage.

      Quite clear, two swallows
I can never look quickly enough and recognize features like the experienced bird watchers. So then a photo. Those must be White-throated Swallows.

        Field fire
Fire spreads quickly and far when it has not rained for a long time. Attempts are made to extinguish it, yet a loss of pastureland, but also of various animals, is inevitable.

            Springboks in the evening light
Remarkable: They can reach heights of 3.5 m in standing jumps. They are considered the fastest land animal at the start and can reach 62 km/h after two seconds.

Crested gallinules, unfortunately the red crest is hard to see.
