To keep advancing in technology, security, presentation, and growth, the Premium membership fee will increase from €38 to €79 per year starting in April. The good news: if you upgrade to Premium now, you lock in the €38 rate permanently. In other words: better to press the shutter today than face a higher price tomorrow.

Why €38 no longer fits the picture

The new price might feel like a strong exposure adjustment at first. But looking at it realistically, it’s simply necessary: currently, acquiring 100 new visitors costs us about €40 in advertising. On average, this results in 10 new members and 1 Premium member. At the old price, that brings in around €35—less than what’s needed just to sustain growth. With the new €79 rate, revenue rises to about €70, finally creating room for Photoclub to grow into a truly large platform. Those who become Premium members now keep the €38 rate forever, securing not only the old price but also supporting greater reach, more new members, and thus more attention for their own photos.

More than just a click behind every upload

Photoclub isn’t just about beautiful photos and an upload button. Behind the scenes, there’s ongoing development, system operations, accounting, servers, security, licenses, payment processing, legal protection, as well as support and moderation. Monthly costs currently run around €10,600, which adds up to about €127,200 annually—conservatively estimated. This isn’t a luxury; it’s the foundation for what you experience daily: a modern, stable, and user-friendly platform where your images reliably stay visible. In comparison, a yearly membership at €38 covers only a fraction of this. To cover the basics alone, we’d need roughly 3,348 Premium members. At €79, that number drops to about 1,610—and that doesn’t even include advertising costs to attract new members.
