Option Conversation Culture

With our latest photo upload feature, we give you the freedom to decide how you want people to talk about your images each time you share a photo. Whether you prefer light, casual small talk or are looking for in-depth, constructive criticism – these are your photos, so it should be your choice.

3 Options

We understand that everyone in the Photoclub has their own idea of what feedback should be. That’s why you can now choose how you want to engage with others about your work when uploading your photos: No Preference speaks for itself, Smalltalk invites relaxed, friendly conversation, and Intensive encourages deep exchange with constructive critique. This new feature makes it easier than ever to set the tone for your photo discussions.

Small Talk or Depth?

Sometimes you might just want to chat casually about a photo. Other times, you’re searching for that little detail that turns a good shot into a great one. With the new settings in Photoclub, you’re in control. Choose "Smalltalk" for light, encouraging comments or "Intensive" for feedback that helps you grow and sharpen your skills.

Colors That Speak

To make communication even more intuitive, we’ve color-coded the comment icon and the border of the comment box in your timeline to match your selection. If you pick "Smalltalk," everything glows in a warm orange, symbolizing coziness and friendly exchange. If you go for "Intensive," the form turns a deep violet, representing depth, reflection, and a desire for constructive growth.

Additionally, on the photo detail page—the full view of your photos—we’ve added a matching colored banner with text right above the comment box. This way, the photographer’s preference is always clear and never lost while commenting.

In the gallery view, each thumbnail is also marked with a comment icon in the corresponding color. This lets you see what kind of feedback the uploader is looking for before even opening the photo. These color cues ensure that communication in the Photoclub is not only visually appealing but also intuitive and respectful of the photographer’s wishes.

Get Involved and Shape the Experience!

We invite you to actively use the new photo upload settings and help shape how we interact with each other in the Photoclub. Share your work with your chosen preferences and discover how enriching and diverse feedback can be. Whether you’re seeking praise or aiming to sharpen your skills through constructive criticism – your voice and your photos are welcome here.
