Since the old version I had couldn’t open the RAW files from my camera (it’s not compatible with the necessary Camera Raw update...), I started looking up the price for a newer version. And lo and behold, it works.
It did cost me all morning and my last nerves, but that’s easy to avoid if you watch the instructions right from the start

Hat mich zwar den ganzen Vormittag meine letzten Nerven gekostet, aber das lässt sich leicht umgehen, wenn man gleich am Anfang die Anleitung anschaut
(One more thing: My PC always had trouble finishing the Photoshop download and told me to cancel at the end, but it still worked... I’m no PC expert, but as long as Creative Cloud is installed, it should run regardless of what it says at the end. Like I said, it took me two hours and nearly my last nerve...)
