Hello everyone,
I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Alfred Kaipel, and I’ve been passionate about photography for what feels like forever.
Like many, I started out as an enthusiastic hobbyist. Eventually, I transitioned into press photography as a freelance journalist, where I landed my first paid assignments.
That experience motivated me to keep going, and since January, I’ve been working full-time as a self-employed professional photographer.
The workload allowed me to leave my well-paying job in adult education and take a fresh leap at 55 years old.
That’s also why I officially registered as a professional photographer—not because I think I’m better than others, but because this is how I earn my living.
However, I can confidently say that I’m a skilled networker with the right abilities to secure assignments and turn them into income. My previous career definitely helped me with that.
Believe it or not, since becoming self-employed, photography actually takes up only about 10% of my work. But I was aware of that going in.
The passion is still there, even though I rarely find the time to just shoot freely and experiment.
So, that’s me in a nutshell.
I’m happy to be here and curious to see where this leads.

Best regards, AlfredHallo an Alle,
LG Alfred
