A section of about 30 meters of the pedestrian passage towards the New Town Hall (town hall tower in the background) is illuminated with 35 colorful lampshades in various sizes. They create a vibrant entrance to the city center marketplace. Additionally, the passage is especially suitable as a photo motif in the Chemnitz city center during the evening hours. This supports measures aimed at revitalizing the city center and enhancing the quality of stay. More such light installations are planned for other streets in Chemnitz in the future.
