This shot of the Pilatus was taken from the Kreuzhöhe of the Sonnenberg. While Lucerne disappeared under a heavy fog cover, my favorite mountain rose majestically into the blue sky.

Auf der Kreuzhöhe des Sonnenbergs entstand diese Aufnahme des Pilatus. Während Luzern unter einer schweren Nebeldecke verschwand, erhob sich mein Lieblingsberg majestätisch in den blauen Himmel.

To the old coin
Zur alten Münz. The word "originally" in this context refers to the very first use of the building before it became a restaurant. The house on Münzgasse in Lucerne was already in operation in the 16th century – back then as a municipal mint, a place where Lucerne minted its own money.
Around 1530: First mentions of the municipal mint at this location.
1943: Opening of the restaurant Zur alten Münz under this name.
1966: Closure of the venue as a public restaurant.
Today, the tavern Zur Alten Münz mainly serves as the staff restaurant for the Hotel Wilden Mann. However, during the Lucerne Fasnacht, it is transformed into a bar used by local Fasnacht groups such as the Ronfäger.

Zur alten Münz. Das Wort „ursprünglich“ in diesem Zusammenhang bezieht sich auf die allererste Nutzung des Gebäudes vor seiner Funktion als Restaurant. Das Haus in der Münzgasse in Luzern war bereits im 16. Jahrhundert in Betrieb – damals als städtische Münzstätte, also als Ort, an dem Luzern sein eigenes Geld prägte.

Thorenberg Castle in Lucerne, Littau district
Thorenberg Castle is located in the Littau district of Lucerne on a hill in the forest. Originally built in the 12th century, the fortress was destroyed by the people of Lucerne in 1385. Around 1900, a new small castle in the style of medieval romanticism was built on the old foundations.

This tree stands throughout the year, whether in rain or snow, in fog or under bright sunshine, firmly rooted yet alive in its place. It conveys to me a deep sense of strength and serenity.

Dieser Baum steht das ganze Jahr hindurch, ob bei Regen oder Schnee, im Nebel oder unter strahlendem Sonnenschein, fest verwurzelt und dennoch lebendig an seinem Platz. Er vermittelt mir eine tiefe Empfindung von Stärke und Gelassenheit.
