Over 100 years ago, cars with combustion engines were still met with skepticism even among forward-thinking people:Bei eines meiner üblichen Fahrradtouren kam ich in Ladenburg (Wirkungsstätte von Carl Benz, bei Heidelberg) an einer Fährstelle über den Neckar vorbei, wo gerade ein Oldtimer übergesetzt hatte und eine Pause einlegte. Als Autofan wollte ich natürlich wissen, was da vor mir stand. Es war ein Oldtimer der Marke: Stanley aus den USA, dass mit Dampf betrieben wird (Kerosin als Treibstoff). Super gepflegt und voll funktionsfähig. Außen und innen eine Augenweide.
