Mont-Saint-Michel is a village and a municipality with 23 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the French department of Manche in the Normandy region. The municipality consists of the rocky island Mont Saint-Michel in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel in the Normandy mudflats and parts of the mainland. The island, named after the Archangel Michael, is about one kilometer from the coast. With a circumference of around 830 meters, it is only about 55,000 m² in size; the total municipal area amounts to 4 km².
