Last weekend in July 2024, I was able to watch this spectacle from a safe distance. One of two storm fronts moved at a snail’s pace across the Alps, while the other rushed from Lower Bavaria towards Salzburg behind me. At times, I didn’t even know where to point the camera, but the alpine weather showed more ground lightning.
I combined six individual shots in Photoshop to capture the intensity of the storm.

Am letzten Wochenende im Juli 2024 durfte ich dieses Schauspiel aus sicherer Distanz beobachten. Eine von zwei Unwetterfronten zog im Schneckentempo über die Alpen, die andere hinter mir rauschte von Niederbayern in Richtung Salzburg. Teils wusste ich gar nicht, wohin ich die Kamera ausrichten sollte, aber das Alpenwetter zeigte mehr Erdblitze.
Das Foto habe ich aus sechs Einzelbildern in Photoshop zusammengesetzt, und zeigt so die Intensität des Gewitters.
Fun Fact: Am Abend zuvor hatte ich im Kino "Twisters" angeschaut und war somit schon im Stormchasing Modus!
