Field hare in the early morningField hare in the early morningFeldhase am frühen Morgen
I was already on my way back when I saw a field hare ahead of me on the path; it hopped away from me at a leisurely pace. Due to the slight incline and the hilltop, I lost sight of it but stayed in the meadow, which was separated by small trees and a strip of tall grass—the best camouflage ever.
When I reached the last little tree, I could only see its ears by the roadside. I sat down because it would have to come back eventually; the path leads to a road, and it surely doesn’t want to go there.
I didn’t have to wait long before it returned, but it didn’t stay on the path; instead, it moved onto the meadow, so my camouflage was blown—but that didn’t bother the hare. It circled around me in a bow and came back onto the path behind me.
I have no idea how long I got to watch the hare; in moments like these, I lose track of time. I took many pictures and even a video. These are the moments when you forget time and enjoy watching an animal.I was already on my way back when I saw a field hare ahead of me on the path; it hopped away from me at a leisurely pace.
