Here is the ECC85 on the half-open FM box. Normally, there is a shielding plate in front of it. Such a box is usually hard to open, and originally it is not meant to be opened at all. In the picture, you can see a light ceramic trimmer to the right under the horizontal red resistor. Grease and other dirt particles from the room air often get into these trimmers, causing a short circuit. The result is a burnt resistor. Afterwards, you only get reception at the very edge of the band, and even then only weakly. However, the resistor was still fine. So eine Box kriegt man meist schwer auf, und ursprünglich ist das auch gar nicht zum öffnen vorgesehen. Man sieht auf dem Bild rechts unter dem liegenden roten Widerstand einen hellen Keramiktrimmer. In diese Trimmer zieht gerne mal das Fett und andere Schmutzpartikel aus der Zimmerluft rein und dann gibt es einen Kurzen. Die Folge ist ein durchgebrannter Widerstand. Anschließend hat man nur noch Empfang ganz außen am Band, und das auch nur schwach. Der Widerstand war aber noch in Ordnung. Die Box ist jetzt wieder zu.
