The Fuhne is a right tributary of the Saale and an indirect left tributary of the Mulde.
The Fuhne has no source but a summit area fed by surface and seepage water from a wetland. The current riverbed thus has a bifurcation, a branching. East of Zehbitz, its western part flows into the Saale, which it reaches in the district of Dröbel, belonging to the town of Bernburg (Saale).
