    Strength lies in calmness
St. Peter and Paul is a Catholic branch church in Lindenfels in the Bergstraße district of Hesse. Although it was only consecrated in 1745, it is the oldest church in the town. History A Catholic community in Lindenfels only formed after the readmission of Catholics in the Electoral Palatinate in 1685. Initially, the Catholics used the castle chapel of Lindenfels Castle, which had been abandoned since the Reformation, before beginning to build their own church from 1727 on a specially fortified plateau at the castle entrance. The church construction was financed through collections approved by Elector Karl III Philipp, through corvée labor, and fines, and took several years. The shell was completed in 1732, and the church was consecrated in 1745. In 1893, a sacristy was added to the church, and in 1896 the windows were altered. A major renovation took place in 1974.
