Hello, The reason I bought this compact or bridge camera was for a trip to Namibia. The idea was to have a camera with a 29-540mm equivalent zoom (full-frame equivalent) without having to change lenses. No dust inside the camera, since it’s a sealed system. That really proved itself. After two days in the VW bus driving through the Namib and the Kalahari, the bus was covered in dust and sand. Changing lenses with my DSLR gear would have been very complicated out there. So I came home with clean images, free of dust and fibers on the sensor.
The only downside: you can’t really print larger than 24x30cm if you want decent quality. But who does that often? It was enough for us, and now the camera serves as my “always with me” camera in the camper. You never know when you’ll need it... I’ll bring my “real” camera when I know exactly what I want to shoot. For everything else, the bridge camera is more than sufficient.
