Hobbyfotografin

Hello from Austria!

I would also like to introduce myself.
A warm hello to everyone!
My name is Christine (born in 1961), and I’d like to revive an old hobby.
When I was younger, I was really into photography. Back then, I was allowed to use my father’s darkroom, and I loved experimenting. I was over the moon when I bought my Minolta camera—it stayed with me for a long time.
When digital photography came along, I lost interest. I gradually became more of a casual snapshot taker. Most of my time was spent with my children and later on my career—I’m a ceramic artist and ran my own pottery studio in Vienna.
Being quite a practical person, I didn’t want to lug around heavy lenses, so just last week I bought the Panasonic FZ1000. I know, it’s not a DSLR and some photographers don’t consider it a “real” camera.
I’m hoping to learn from the pros here. I love beautiful, especially expressive photos, and I dream of one day taking pictures that people enjoy looking at—photos that tell stories and reflect emotions.
Best regards, Christine

Amateur photographer

As someone who values convenience, I didn’t want to carry around multiple lenses, so I bought the Panasonic FZ1000 last week—I know, it’s not a DSLR and some photographers don’t consider it a “real” camera.

I know several hobby photographers who are very happy with this camera. In any case, it covers all the focal lengths you’ll need in 99% of situations.

Christine, don’t you feel like picking up analog photography again with your Minolta? 😉
