Do you remember the "photo tourists"?

A former photo community
Hi everyone Does anyone here remember the Photo Tourists , or were you even a member at some point?
- hanseat - 01.04.2022, 14:32 #2
Yes, I was once a member.
That means there were about 15 of us sharing our photos there.
I had permission to upload ALL the photos. The reason: Not everyone was very tech-savvy.
OK, the small photo group wasn’t made up of professionals — they were mostly hobby photographers.
And the photos often reflected that.
It didn’t take long before harsh criticism from other users started rolling in.
“You and your crappy photos from ???” was still the mildest comment.
Soon after, the whole thing disappeared. Apparently, everyone lost interest or the admin just didn’t want to keep it going.
We ended up on Flickr, and most of the group is still there to this day.

°Well, I still remember those.
From the Sehsam days, so to speak *)
It's really a shame they’re no longer around.
I remember it quite differently
than Hanseat — I learned a lot about seeing there.
I’m still working on my photography skills, though.

Warm greetings, Thomas!
I recently stumbled upon this place by chance,
hoping to reconnect with Infra,
since I’d read his comments,
but unfortunately, he’s long gone again...

*) I no longer want to be ‘Sehsam’ here.
I guess you still know
who’s answering your ‘old’ question today.
I probably won’t be very active due to lack of time,
but at least I was bold enough to sign up here ;-)

All the best!
°j.

@julia eden

Strangely, the system turned the combination
asterisk* + parenthesis) after 'sozusagen'
into a smiley, just like asterisk* + parenthesis)
before 'hier mo[e]chte ich nicht mehr sehsam sein'.

The asterisk* + parenthesis) after 'sozusagen' was
meant as a footnote indicator:
"hier mo[e]chte ich nicht mehr sehsam sein."
Only the last line was supposed to have a smiley.
Now there are three of them, way too many.
[Not a disaster, but a bit annoying.]
