Another Newcomer

Hey everyone, I’ve been pretty burned out on forums for a while, having had some negative experiences with the usual photography forums.
Let’s see how things go here.
Looking forward to some constructive collaboration.
  Best, Peter

Welcome, Peter. (Better late than never😉 Thanks for introducing yourself. We completely understand your fatigue with forums. But it’s precisely those negative forum experiences that brought us together with the shared goal of building a community culture where values like respect and decency are truly lived. However, this can’t be achieved in the way typical communities are run. Unfortunately, we learned that the hard way. That’s why we see photoclub more as a club than just a community. Our forum rules best reflect our values and goals:

Values and Goals

At photoclub, we want to create a pleasant oasis free from negative people and disruptive personalities. We aim to surround ourselves only with people we would choose to be around in real life. That’s why we take member selection very seriously. Kindness, respect, and decency matter more to us than photographic skill or membership fees. Anyone who behaves disrespectfully or indecently loses our respect—and with it, the privilege of membership. This applies equally to professional photographers and premium members alike. Besides good social skills, we also expect a minimum level of photographic and technical competence from our members. However, eager beginners are always warmly welcome. [more]

Take a look, and I think you’ll be able to decide pretty well if this is the right place for you.
So... welcome to the club!
