Function test of an (almost) 70-year-old camera
The photo was taken with the purely mechanical rangefinder camera Voigtländer Vito BL (1956) with a Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.8 lens (1/300 sec at about f/4.5). I was able to free up the resin-seized focus ring with a hairdryer and used a smartphone app for metering, as the (uncoupled) selenium light meter is now dead. The film used was Kodak Gold 200, developed with Fujifilm's industry standard process and scanned in the lab with a Noritsu as an XXL TIFF (6630x4420px). In post-processing, I only reduced the file size and saved it as a JPG. I’m pleasantly surprised by the result and will next try classic black and white.

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception
The rows of benches and columns guide the eye directly to the brightly lit altar area at the end of the room. The cathedral impresses with its neo-Romanesque-Byzantine interior architecture, characterized by white Carrara marble, intricate mosaics, and historic masterpieces.

      Golden sunrise in the marina
A picturesque scene at Grömitz marina during the golden hour; bathed in warm, intense orange and yellow tones that create a strong contrast with the dark silhouettes of the boats.

        "Gorch Fock" under full sail
The training ship "Gorch Fock" led the Windjammer Parade at Kiel Week 2025 under full sail for the first time – in almost perfect conditions. The barque was sailing at 6.5 knots, which is about 12 kilometers per hour. Due to the fresh wind and fully set sails, the Gorch Fock sped ahead of the other ships. The Alexander von Humboldt 2 quickly had to take over the lead of the fleet and guide the formation.

          Contrasts of Silence
A high-contrast black-and-white shot capturing a timeless calm in Mühbrook at Einfelder See. Two pedal boats lie seemingly abandoned on a wooden jetty that leads the eye diagonally into the frame. While the mirror-smooth water perfectly doubles the dense shoreline vegetation, a dramatic cloud sky builds up in the background. The monochrome processing emphasizes the fine textures of the wood, reed grasses, and cloud formations, creating an intense interplay of light and shadow.

            Sunset at the Sea
Here is the photo I took after my wife's photobomb (kick off photo). A moment of pure calm: the setting sun bathes the beach and the gentle sea in a deep, warm orange as the day peacefully comes to an end.

Kick off - my first photo in the photo club
Metaphorical meaning: The word "Kick off" (start) is visually translated through the person's actual kick.
