The Lungenseitling is closely related to the classic oyster mushroom, but unlike this one, it fruits in the warm months from May to October, as it does not require cold stimulus for growth. It is an excellent edible mushroom.

Der Lungenseitling ist eng mit dem klassischen Austernseitling verwandt, fruchtet im Gegensatz zu diesem aber in den warmen Monaten von Mai bis Oktober, da er keinen Kältereiz für das Wachstum benötigt. Er ist ein ausgezeichneter Speisepilz.
