Um auf das zunehmende Verschwinden von Ackerwildblumen aufmerksam zu machen, wurde der Klatschmohn Blume des Jahres 2017. Klatschmohn ist auch ein Symbol des Gedenkens an die im Krieg gefallenen Soldaten.
