    NGC 3628 Hamburger Galaxy
NGC 3628 is an active spiral galaxy with extensive star-forming regions of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic. It has an apparent visual magnitude of 9.5. The galaxy is estimated to be 34 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 145,000 light-years. This object is what is called an edge-on galaxy, meaning we see it exactly from the side. The spiral arms appear here only as dark dusty clouds, illuminated by the bright center of the galaxy.
